“Mosquito Repellent Sticker—Organic Onion Sticker” is an innovation for environmental conservation. From Thailand, soar into the global market
“One Venture,” the owner of the eco-friendly innovation “Mosquito Repellent Sticker (Bug Guard) Organic Onion Sticker (Happy Noz),” the first of its kind in Thailand and the world, has won numerous national and international awards. It proudly announces that Thai products have already achieved global sales of over 200 million pieces. In 2023, sales exceeded 220 million baht, and for 2024, the target is to grow by 30%. Sales through 7-Eleven stores have grown by over 50% annually. Meanwhile, EXIM Bank is ready to support Thai entrepreneurs towards a green export supply chain, hoping to avoid trade barriers related to environmental issues.
Pharm. Wanthanee Senakoon, Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of One Venture Co., Ltd., revealed that the company is the first producer of organic mosquito-repellent stickers in Thailand under the brand name Bug Guard and the first producer of organic onion stickers in the world under the brand Happy Noz. This innovation is the result of research and development of traditional Thai herbal wisdom by a team of pharmacists from Chulalongkorn University, integrating it with the principles of modern medical pharmacy and enhancing it with various innovations, including the fermentation of 100% organic extracts and the weaving of special absorbent fabric layers, allowing the herbs to be effective for up to 12 hours.
“ The company’s products, especially Happy Noz, provide a refreshing scent and ease breathing when inhaled, helping to relieve nasal congestion from colds without the need for medication. In addition to its properties and safety, for convenience in usage, this product has been designed as a small, adhesive sticker that sticks firmly and can be easily removed. It can be applied to clothing, face masks, fans, or air conditioners.” Pharm. Wanthanee Senakoon said.
With a strong commitment to developing Happy Noz, we have received the prestigious 7 Innovation Award in Thailand and also secured 4 gold medals and 1 silver medal at international product and innovation competitions for two consecutive years at the Invention and Innovation Contest in Paris in 2022 and the International Invention and Trade Expo in London in 2023. Furthermore, social and environmental care is one of the philosophies that our company has never abandoned. Therefore, in 2024, we received the Outstanding Governance Award for Social and Environmental Practices from the Bank of Thailand in collaboration with Puey Ungphakorn Institute for Economic Research.
Pharm. Wanthanee Senakoon stated: “With awards guaranteeing quality, innovation, as well as social and environmental contributions, Happy Noz is currently the number one seller in Thailand for four consecutive years (in the onion sticker category from 2020-2023; IQVIA) and has been exported to over 33 countries, delivering value for a better quality of life to people around the world with more than 200 million pieces sold already.”
Regarding the “key to success” that has led to being ranked number one in sales in Thailand and exporting worldwide. Pharm. Wanthanee stated that it comes from a business philosophy aimed at delivering happiness that exceeds customer expectations. Therefore, we continuously strive to innovate and improve our products, as well as introduce new products to meet customer demands as much as possible. Last year, the company launched several new products, such as ginger oil stickers, tea tree oil, clove oil, turmeric oil, and special red onion oil, among others, including Ylang Ylang Oil stickers.
As for the distribution channels in Thailand, the company has focused on direct marketing to the target group. For the product line of organic onion stickers (Happy Noz), the communication is primarily directed toward mothers with young children who are dealing with colds and nasal congestion. This is similar to the mosquito repellent stickers (BUG GUARD), which are a common concern for every household in Thailand and have received very positive feedback. This is evident from the total sales in 7-Eleven stores nationwide, with over 14,000 branches, achieving an annual growth rate of approximately 50%, and this trend has continued consistently.
While sales abroad for both products have received positive feedback, the organic onion stickers are particularly popular in Middle Eastern countries. In the ASEAN and Asian markets, which have expanded to the Philippines and Indonesia, the response has also been positive. In the Western markets, especially the U.S., the focus will be on e-commerce through the Amazon website. Meanwhile, in Europe, there is a significant customer base in Germany, as tourists who have used our products in Thailand have placed orders to sell in their home country. As a result, in the past year of 2023, the company achieved sales of up to 225 million baht, and for 2024, the company aims to achieve a sales growth rate of about 30% compared to the previous year.
One Venture Company is one of the few companies invited by the Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM BANK) to participate in a booth during the press conference for Export Supply Chain Greenovation, which launched new products to support Thai entrepreneurs in entering the Green Export Supply Chain on the morning of May 2, 2024. Additionally, Dr. Rak Vorrakitpokatorn, who served as EXIM Thailand’s President, stated during a press conference that EXIM Bank has developed Greenovation aimed at elevating Thai export products to be eco-friendly or green products, alongside creating a Green Export Supply Chain. This includes sourcing raw materials that do not harm the environment, production processes that reduce pollution emissions, biodegradable packaging, and transportation that utilizes clean energy, among other initiatives.
“The entrepreneurs invited by Exim Bank to today’s event are considered an important group of clients producing environmentally friendly products. They have adapted to the changing global trends that require compliance with environmental trade measures for exports to key markets such as the United States, the European Union, China, Japan, and India. It is believed that they will play a significant role in boosting Thailand’s export figures this year and in the years to come, allowing for renewed growth,” emphasized the Managing Director of EXIM Bank.
